Old Colony Chapter

Sweeps Tournament

It was long, it was hot and the competition was stiff.

The athletic fields of Veteran's Memorial Field in Waltham played host to the Annual Massachusetts DeMolay Softball Tournament on Saturday, July 17. Dad Shawn Holter, Director of Athletics arranged the fields and engaged a great team of umpires for the test of wills.

Old Colony Chapter truimped over long time rival J.G. Whittier Chapter in Haverill who teamed up with Lowell Chapter to take on the dynasty at Old Colony. In the final it was OCD 17 and JG Whittier/Lowell 10. South Coastal Chapter, John Eliot Chapter, North Shore Chapter, Old Colony Chapter, Lowell Chapter and Middleboro Chapters all fielded teams to compete.

Old Colony Chapter won the 10 Pin Bowling Tournament, the basketball Tournament and now the Softball Tournament. Can their winning record come to an end at Conclave. Take them on at Volleyball and the Tug of War.

Conclave 2010

The most exciting program of the DeMolay year will be held on the weekend of August 6-8, on the same campus as last year, that's right -Nichols College in Dudley, Massachusetts.  The cost of attending is only $80.00 per person (register before July 9) and includes SIX meals, two night lodging and all the fun a DeMolay can handle.   As you will recall, the facilities are first rate  and the school boasts about its great athletic facilities. 

Dad Jon Calari (jon.caliri@mademolay.org) and his team have already held several meetings in anticipation of making this years' Conclave program the best yet!  If you have specific comments or even things you would like to see or do at Conclave, be sure to send an email to either Dad Caliri or State Master Councilor Christopher D. Rooney.
