Traveling Gavel Program

All chapters start with a Gavel.

A minimum of 3 DeMolay from a Chapter with at least 1 advisor attends another Chapter's meeting to take their gavel.

Here are the tie breakers:
1.) The chapter that has not taken a gavel
2.) The chapter that has the fewest gavels
3.) The chapter that has traveled the farthest distance

Note: Distances have been calculated from each chapter's Masonic Building according to Google Maps. To download the Gavel Distance Chart, click here .

When a chapter has taken a gavel from another chapter, the Master Councilor or Chapter Dad Advisor should email gavel@mademolay.org so that the information can be up to date on the website.

It is recommended that the Chapter Dad Advisor contact the chapter that he plans on visiting to inform the chapter and find out if there is a gavel present.

For more information, please contact Dad Ted Polonsky or Dad Wayne Vinton .
